We’ve given over a brick wall on Fountain Square to be decorated by the community and create a permanent artwork at this important gateway for the city.
We dropped in on Fountain Square to check in on the Brick Project painting and took the opportunity to paint some bricks ourselves. We also invited Gloucester City Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing Luke Shervey to join us.
This project is creating a positive voice and narrative for the community of Gloucester as a whole, and builds on the artistic collaborations we’ve been part of in the Westgate area over the past 4 years.
There are 1500 bricks to paint in total and all are welcome to get involved during the remaining painting days:
Saturday 05 October 10.30am to 5.30pm
Sunday 6 October 10.30am to 5.30pm
Wednesday 09 October 10.30am to 5.30pm
Thursday 10 October 9.30am to 4.30pm
Friday 11 October 10.30am to 5.30pm
and a Celebration of Gloucester’s Got Talent at the Folk of Gloucester on Saturday 12 October 2.30-5pm
With thanks to Brick Project’s Dan Petley and Fraisia Bruist-Papazian and artist Amy Freeman for their work on this Arts Council England funded project.
