Although we were unable to run our usual Community Roadshow events or hold our annual Community Impact day this year, we have made sure to continue supporting our communities and making a difference in a range of ways. One of these was through a series of 7 small scale ‘Repairs Roadshows’ which we ran in the summer across our neighbourhoods, whilst carefully complying with all COVID-safe requirements. During the roadshows a number of our PropertyCare Operatives were on hand to pick up and deal with a range of repairs related issues for small groups of properties.
The 7 events were held at Penhill Road Flats and Norbury Avenue in Matson, Elmbridge, St Pauls Court, Bisley Road Flats, Stratford Close flats and The Dukeries in Westgate and resulted in 17 jobs completed during the roadshows with a further 29 inspections undertaken and 5 other issues reported.
Mandi Holt, Community Investment Team Leader at GCH comments “This year, due to restrictions, we have been unable to hold our normal programme of activities so we have trialled the Repairs Roadshow idea to encourage residents to report repairs issues that were not reported during the lockdown period. Due to the success of the events, we hope to plan some more when the risk of COVID-19 is less in the Country. For now, safety remains a priority and we will not be running any further events unless the COVID-19 regulations allow us to.”
