Gloucester City Homes (GCH) is pleased to launch an exciting employment opportunity for 6 young people through the Government’s £2 billion Kickstart Scheme.
The 6 placements will give unemployed young people valuable work experience as an Office Administrator, Property Services Assistant and Supported Housing Assistant. The 25-hour per week, 6-month jobs are open to young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who are claiming Universal Credit.
Vicky Redding, Learning & Development Officer at GCH comments “We are really excited to bring such great new opportunities to local young people. It is a crucial time to support the local community, particularly young people who have been adversely affected by the ongoing Pandemic. We have designed the roles to provide hands-on experience of 3 different career options in social housing. Alongside practical work, participants will attend a fortnightly training programme run by the County Council, to help boost their confidence, employability and job search skills.”
The placements will start in April and October 2021. Interested candidates must be referred to the scheme by their DWP Work Coach and can then apply to GCH directly with their CV and a short covering email explaining why they are interested in the role.
We also have an exciting opportunity for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our Human Resources Team – Visit the Gov.co.uk website for more details and to apply. This vacancy closes on 28th February 2021.
