The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has shared its January 2024 newsletter with useful updates and changes to government services and support.
Highlights include:
- Child Benefit can now be applied for online for the first time, streamlining the application process.
- 15 hours of free childcare per week will be available starting April 2024 for eligible 2 year olds. This expands free childcare support for working parents.
- Universal Credit Migration Notice letters are being sent out, requiring recipients to move to Universal Credit as current benefits end. Be sure to apply for transitional protection.
- Updates on disability benefits awareness sessions, the landlord portal verification tool, energy efficiency funding for charities, and more.
