Hybrid / Gloucester - daily travel to the Independent Living sites

Permanent, Part Time (19 hours per week)

Looking for a fresh challenge and to find that spring in your step at Gloucestershire’s best place to work?

Are you passionate about improving people’s lives?

At Gloucester City Homes (GCH), we support 12,500 customers in around 5,000 homes in Gloucestershire and providing more than just a home is what we’re about.

That’s where you come in!

We’re now seeking a Specialist Housing Manager – someone to be responsible for multiple Independent Living sites within GCH. You’ll be a key point of contact for escalation from Customer Experience colleagues with responsibility for managing the health and safety of communal spaces and for responding to the welfare technology escalations.

You’ll be a ‘customer advocate’ and build effective and positive relationships with Independent Living customers and be approachable and accessible, communicating openly, ensuring they are kept updated as appropriate. Responsible for conducting site inspections, welfare checks, and regular home visits, you’ll ensure adequate condition of properties, identifying support needs and signposting to appropriate services to ensure tenancies are sustained and independence is maintained as far as possible.

We’d like you to…

  • Ideally hold a relevant technical housing qualification, such as a level 3 diploma in Housing Management.
  • Proven understanding and experience of delivery statutory housing services.
  • Experience of collating and analysing customer intelligence, as well as sharing and presenting information to the patch team.
  • Experience of using a housing management system (or similar CRM) to gather, store and process information together.
  • Experience in communicating with Older People or people from diverse backgrounds
  • Resilient, assertive, dynamic and flexible.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and Compliance Standards within Housing.

The ability to drive and have access to transport is essential, as daily visits to schemes is a necessity.

Closing Date: 28th February 2025.

GCH reserve the right to bring the closing date forward should enough quality applications be received prior to the current closing date.

GCH is committed to equal opportunities. We actively encourage applications from all sections of our community, particularly those with lived experience of our work.

We celebrate the diverse nature of our customers and colleagues, striving to develop diverse teams where everyone can be their authentic self through an inclusive, family friendly, flexible and fun culture.

At GCH, we Adapt, we Inspire, we Own it and we Care. We live by our values and are dedicated to delivering on our commitment to customers #BeTheDifference. If that sounds like you, we’d be delighted to hear from you!
